Dr. Michael BastonWelcome!

On behalf of the Convocation committee and our College’s leadership team, I’d like to thank you for attending Spring 2026 Convocation at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C)!

It is hard to believe another academic year is winding down. This has been a year of tremendous achievement and growth that saw us reaffirm our commitment to our mission and objectives at “The Power of Us,” our very first all-employee convening in October.

We have continued to align the College with the themes and pillars of our Vision 2030 Strategic Transformation Plan, which will guide Tri-C into the future — a future in which the very nature of how students perceive and pursue higher education is drastically changing.

This has been a year of redefining our internal culture, as we launched the S.T.O.M.P. Experience, an initiative that will shape how we interact with each other and how we interact with students to provide the best possible service and outcomes.

This has been a year where we have looked with pride upon what we have accomplished while still acknowledging the work that remains ahead of us to maintain Tri-C’s standing as one of the most important academic institutions in our region and state.

To all of our employees, I thank you for your hard work as you bring your incredible talent and expertise to this College each day. To our amazing and indispensable faculty, I especially want to highlight the work you do and the expertise you provide in educating our students, shaping their futures and the future of Northeast Ohio.

I hope today is an extraordinary day of learning, networking and celebration. I am so proud of the work we have done in the past year and look forward with great anticipation and excitement as we build on our accomplishments in the coming academic year.

With gratitude and respect,

Michael A. Baston, J.D., Ed.D.
President
