Faculty Externships
The Center for the Future of Work at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) is committed to investing in and supporting faculty through paid experiences at regional companies, institutions and organizations. These experiences enhance program visibility, cultivate important relationships and help to develop a dynamic hiring environment for Tri-C students.
Thanks to the Hower Family Foundation, grant dollars have been made available to support these externships. Those funds expire June 30, 2026.
The application is open Sept. 15 – Oct. 31, 2025, and externships will be awarded mid-November 2025.
What is a "Faculty Externship?"
A faculty externship has a link to a specific employer, and the scope of the experience has specific objectives, agreed to by the faculty member and the employer. These externships will be co-designed and immersive experiences; there are tangible outcomes from a faculty externship, which must be articulated as benefits for the student, the faculty member and the employer.
