Financial Aid Checklist
Before the Semester
1. Complete Your FAFSA
- Submit your FAFSA
- Save your FSA ID and password!
2. Apply for Scholarships
- Visit Tri-C's Apply for Scholarships webpage for more information and to apply.
3. Check Your Financial Aid Dashboard via Your my Tri-C space Account Under the Self-Service Card
- Complete all financial aid requirements.
- Upload documents early to avoid delays.
4. Review of Your Financial Aid Awards
- Does your financial aid offer cover your tuition and fees balance?
- Borrow only what you need if you take loans.
5. Set up Your Refund Preference
- Log in to your my Tri-C space account and select "Make Refund Choice."
6. Confirm Your Enrollment
- Make sure all your classes are counting in your Course Program of Study (CPOS).
- Review your Program of Study email to make sure your classes are counting toward your program.
During the Semester
7. Attend all Classes
- Attendance is required for aid to be released.
- Double -check your class schedule.
8. Check Your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Complete at least 67% of your classes.
- Ask for help early (tutoring, advising, professor's office hours, writing center, etc.)
9. Regularly Monitor Your Financial Aid Status
- Check your Financial Aid Dashboard for new messages.
10. Budget Planning in GradReady
- GradReady is a free online tool that helps with budgeting.
- Register online for a free GradReady account.
End of Semester
11. Finish the Term Strong
- Complete all assignments and finals.
- Avoid withdrawals unless necessary — talk to the Financial Aid office first.
12. Prepare for Next Semester
- Renew your FAFSA (if required).
- Check your GradPlan for help selecting courses for the next semester.
