Program Sequence Program Outcomes
Course Descriptions Apply to Tri-C

This program provides the basic skills and practice needed to start a career as a professional in bakery and pastry production. Basic and advanced baking/pastry production classes are included in the curriculum. This 9 month program provides quick movement through the basics of culinary with a baking and pastry focus, and a jump start into the work place. Credits earned for this certificate may apply towards Associate of Applied Business Degree in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Culinary Arts.

Primary components of the certificate program are:

  • Culinary Concentrations: hands on production experience, an emphasis on the fundamentals of cooking technique, contemporary food styles, baking and pastry.
  • Personal Development: appropriate and effective communication skills with emphasis on multitasking and managing stress levels within a diverse hospitality environment.
  • Academic Development: prepares the student for problem solving, decision making, teamwork, and cultural awareness
