Dance Mastery (Ages 6-18)

The Dance Mastery community program, funded by the Cleveland Foundation's Community Arts Mastery initiative, introduces local youth to the world of dance. This program focuses on the basics of ballet and modern dance techniques which helps students explore their creativity and develop coordination, flexibility, strength, and their sense of rhythm. At the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to join our Dance Academy.
Classes will be held at three different locations: Broadway School of Arts and Music, Dike School of the Arts and Tri-C's Eastern Campus. You can sign up for classes based on the location of your choice.

Dance Academy (Ages 4 -18)
Jan. 6 - May 11, 2024 | FREE
The Dance Academy, funded by the Cleveland Foundation, is designed for students with previous dance experience. Students train in the fundamentals of ballet and explore creativity through modern dance. This class emphasizes contemporary techniques to develop coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility and alignment. Students learn basic ballet and modern dance techniques, floor work, center work and movement across the floor. Instruction in creative improvisation, performance development, choreography and composition skills will culminate with a final performance.
Once students are grouped by skill level during placement auditions, they will be sent a specific weekly schedule based on their level. Rehearsals take place on select weeknights and Saturdays.
