Classes begin Jan. 8 | FREE
The Community Dance Mastery Program is designed to introduce students of The Cleveland Metropolitan School District to the world of dance through different techniques. It will have a core focus on the basics of ballet and modern dance techniques while improving their flexibility, sense of rhythm and overall coordination. The class is a hybrid (virtual and in-person).
At the end of the class, students have the opportunity to join our Dance Academy. Please email us at CreativeArtsAcademy@tri-c.edu if you have any questions or need further information.
Classes will be held at three different locations: Broadway School of Arts and Music, Tri-C Metropolitan Campus and Tri-C Eastern Campus. You can sign up for classes based on the location of your choice by clicking the link below.
Jan. 8 - May 7, 2022 | FREE
*Children ages 3 and 4 must contact our Creative Arts Academy office for registration at CreativeArtsAcademy@tri-c.edu.
Dance Academy students train in the fundamentals of ballet and explore creativity through modern dance. This class emphasizes contemporary techniques to develop coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility and alignment. Students learn basic ballet and modern dance techniques, floor work, center work and movement across the floor. Instruction in creative improvisation, performance development, choreography and composition skills will culminate with a final performance.
Once students are grouped by skill level during placement auditions, they will be sent a specific weekly schedule based on their level. Rehearsals take place on select weeknights and Saturdays. Classes for younger students are offered at both Metropolitan and Eastern Campus locations. We will provide further details upon registration. Please email us with further questions at CreativeArtsAcademy@tri-c.edu.
During this difficult time of economic transition, we will keep programs free for our students and their families, but if you are willing and able to support us in this effort, please donate here.
