Digital Photography II: Deepening Skill and Developing Voice

Jan. 29 - May 7, 2022 | FREE

Saturdays, 10 a.m. - noon | Ages 14 - 18

Through this intermediate course, students will utilize their foundational photography skills to immerse themselves in the creative and technical possibilities of digital photography. Students deepen their familiarity with both cameras and imaging software in service of developing their own creative voice. They continue to critique as a group, focusing on the connections between photos and the power of a photo series and a 'body' of work. Practicing/professional photographers will be invited into class to expose students to different career paths, perspectives, equipment and techniques. The goal is to cultivate confident young photographers with a passion for and an understanding of a photo-based practice.

Requirements:

  • Students must have a basic understanding of how to operate a DSLR/mirrorless camera (taught in Digital I)
  • Students must have a foundational set of Photoshop editing skills (taught in Digital I)
