Course Descriptions Apply to Tri-C

This program provides the basic skills and practice needed to start a career in rooms division operations in the lodging industry. Students receive instruction in the fundamentals of housekeeping, front office operations, and a basic introduction to information technology in lodging. This 9 month program is designed to assist the student in moving quickly through the basics of Lodging Rooms Division and into the work place. Credits earned for this certificate may apply towards Associate of Applied Business Degree in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Hotel, Destination and Event Management.

Primary components of the certificate program are:

  • Lodging Concentration: develop a core understanding of the fundamentals of front office, facilities maintenance, and housekeeping operations.
  • Personal Development: appropriate and effective communication skills with emphasis on multitasking and managing stress levels within a diverse hospitality environment.
  • Academic Development: prepares the student for problem solving, decision making, teamwork, and cultural awareness
