Creative Solutionist Intern with Spread the Love Foundation
Bring your skills. Explore what's possible. Build something that matters.
Spread the Love Foundation is a Cleveland nonprofit founded by Anthony "Krayzie Bone" Henderson of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. We create pathways into arts and music careers for youth and young adults while supporting our communities.
We're looking for students whose creativity crosses disciplines—designers who make videos, storytellers who build experiences, producers who think like marketers, and people who love figuring things out.
As a Creative Solutionist, you'll work with our Creative Director and team to use the skills you have, explore new ones, and turn ideas into things people can see, use, or experience.
The Experience
During your 120-hour paid internship, you'll develop one primary project shaped around your strengths, interests, and a real foundation need. You'll help define the idea, explore approaches, build it, and bring it through to completion—with guidance and feedback along the way.
Your project could be a podcast concept, campaign, visual system, digital experience, video series, event activation, or something we haven't thought of yet.
Along the way, expect plenty of smaller "make this cool" assignments: improving a presentation, creating a social asset, shaping a story, refreshing a template, or finding a better way to bring an idea to life.
What You'll Do
- Help shape and complete one primary project during your term.
- Bring ideas, curiosity, and your mix of creative skills to team projects.
- Experiment, make prototypes, and refine your work through feedback.
- Create original assets and build from existing templates while maintaining brand integrity.
- Collaborate across disciplines and help teammates solve creative challenges.
- Keep your work organized and communicate progress, questions, and next steps.
- Share your final project, the thinking behind it, and what you learned.
Who We're Looking For
You have a service mindset, bring great energy, and enjoy building things. You care about how your work helps others, take initiative, and follow through.
You don't need to do everything. We're interested in what you already do well, what you want to explore, and how you approach a challenge. Bring examples of things you've made—class assignments, personal experiments, community projects, or portfolio work all count.
Eligibility and Preferred Background
- This opportunity is open to students at Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) and Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C). We welcome students whose interests and skills span design, marketing, audio, video, photography, storytelling, digital media, and other creative disciplines.
- Class projects, personal work, and community projects all count as experience. Bring examples of what you've made, a willingness to learn, and an interest in using your creativity to serve others.
- Technical Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Access to a reliable computer and internet connection for virtual collaboration.
- Ability to use Microsoft Teams for meetings, communication, and sharing files.
- Familiarity with tools relevant to your creative interests, such as design, audio, video, presentation, or content creation software.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Willingness to explore unfamiliar tools, solve problems, and apply feedback.
- You do not need proficiency in every creative discipline. Your primary project will be shaped around your existing skills, learning goals, and the foundation's needs. Any specialized equipment or software needs will be discussed when defining your project.
Availability and Internship Structure
- Complete 120-180 total hours within an agreed internship term.
- Participate in two scheduled online connections each week.
- Work independently between meetings and communicate progress regularly.
- Participate in occasional in-person connections, scheduled in advance.
- Coordinate your schedule with the Creative Director at the start of the term.
- This is a paid internship. Academic credit may be available through CIA or Tri-C, subject to the school's eligibility, registration, and approval requirements. Students should confirm credit arrangements with their academic advisor or internship coordinator before beginning.

Lakeview Landscapes - Graphic Design special project
Lakeview Landscapes is a small, family-owned business run by brothers Colin and Ethan. They are deeply committed to creating wildlife habitats through native plants and pond installations. One of their core values is supporting local artists and avoiding AI-generated designs in their branding and social media. Because of this, we're excited to offer a paid opportunity specifically for a Tri-C Graphic Design student.
The Project
We're building a community called The Native Nest (#JoinTheNest), a welcoming space for supporters who want to bring nature back to their yards. Similar to how Duolingo uses the owl or Target uses Bullseye, we'd like to create a friendly, cartoon-style Ohio Cardinal mascot to represent the brand. The cardinal will serve as an engaging character that helps educate our audience about the ecological impact of traditional lawns (often considered “dead zones” for wildlife) and inspires people to create native habitats instead.
We're looking for a student to design:
- The main cartoon-style mascot
- A set of different facial expressions and emotional poses that can be used across social media posts
The Opportunity
This is a paid project designed to give a Tri-C Graphic Design student real-world client experience, portfolio pieces, and the chance to contribute to a meaningful local business with a strong environmental mission. We believe Tri-C students bring exceptional creativity and talent, and we'd love to support one of them through this collaboration.
