The Illustration Program at Tri-C provides a curriculum integrating drawing and illustration with digital technologies required for a successful career in illustration. The Illustration Program will give you the knowledge and studio skills necessary for a career in today’s commercial arts and illustration fields. The range of courses will train you to draw, illustrate and enhance visual images in traditional fine arts methods, and the most current digital software programs.
Curriculum
The Illustration courses include:
- Life and figure drawing
- Painting
- Water-based media
- Pen and ink
- Markers
- Surface and decorative illustration
- Digital graphics
Upon completion of this program you will have developed a professional portfolio you can use to seek entrance to art schools, four-year colleges or universities, or to represent skill-level proficiency seeking employment as freelance or professional illustrator.
Customized degree programs in Technical Studies can be attained by combining technical courses from a variety of visual communications areas.
Specialized lectures and labs:
Focus on selected topics or current issues in Photography, Digital imaging, Digital Publishing and Interactive Media are offered each semester. Formats vary from 1-day to 4-week workshops and full semester lecture and/or lab classes.
