What is Web and Interactive Media?
The Interactive Media Program will prepare you for a rewarding career in the growing fields of web and interactive media design and development. Top quality instruction by professionals from the field, unparalleled facilities and a low student-teacher ratio provide an excellent learning environment.
The program is based on the professional standards and best practices of web and media development companies, in-house or corporate media departments, design studios, and advertising agencies. Students are assisted in the development of studio, technical and professional skills while building a
strong, marketable portfolio. The program offers two tracks for specialization:Web Design and Construction and Interactive Media Specialist.
Web and Interactive Media Curriculum:
The curriculum is unique to Northeast Ohio, combining visual communication theory and craftsmanship with technical skills. You’ll begin with the fundamentals of design for print, interactive and online media. As you advance, you’ll be challenged with courses that explore skills required in web design and construction, digital video, animation, digital imaging, photography and visual communication.
Tri-C's studio/labs are equipped with the latest hardware (both PC and Macintosh computers) and industry-standard software. Through class assignments, community service projects, field experience and internships you’ll get hands-on experience creating web sites, videos, CD-ROM and DVDs. Upon completion of the program, you’ll have developed a portfolio of both print and digital work and have learned professional practices of the industry.
