Building and Apartment Maintenance Training

Construction Training Academy

Start your career in facilities maintenance with Tri-C's Building and Apartment Maintenance Training program (BAM). If you're looking for a hands-on career that allows you to work on new tasks each day, this program could be a perfect fit.

This 15-week, hands-on program gives you a broad, practical foundation in the skills necessary to succeed from day one.

You will train with industry-standard tools, learn from experienced instructors, and build confidence through real projects. This noncredit course focuses on career-specific training to give learners the job-relevant skills employers in the industry are looking for.

What You'll Learn

  • Exterior and Structural Maintenance: Roofing, siding, windows, gutters, concrete, framing
  • Measurement and Safety: Blueprint reading, OSHA basics, proper tool use
  • Plumbing, Electrical and Appliances: Installation, troubleshooting and repair
  • Carpentry and Flooring: Doors, drywall, trim, cabinets, flooring and carpet repair
  • Foundational understanding of the tools and equipment commonly used in the field
  • Real experience through practical projects in a controlled, supportive environment

An emphasis is placed on safe work practices, basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, which enable learners to reduce downtime and work more effectively with skilled trades.

To be successful, facilities maintenance techs need basic construction, electrical, plumbing and HVAC skills.
