Workplace Core Curriculum

As outlined in the 2025–2028 CCC-AAUP contract (Article 6, Section 6.13), all full-time faculty are required to participate in the Workplace Core Curricula. This training was agreed upon by CCC-AAUP and administration to support a safe, respectful, and student-centered workplace environment.

Workplace Core Curricula Modules:

  1. Legal Issues / Harassment and Discrimination
  2. Student Affairs Code of Conduct
  3. Civility
  4. Workplace Safety and Violence
  5. Student Success
  6. Refresher Course (Re: updates to modules 1–5)

New Tenure-Track Faculty will complete Modules 1–5 during their tenure-track onboarding.
All other full-time, tenure-track faculty must complete the Refresher Course by Aug. 15, 2028.

Format and Timeline:

  • 2025–2026 Academic Year
    • Due to ongoing changes, Legal Issues and Civility modules will be offered live/synchronously via Webex, once per semester.
    • If faculty do not attend the live version, these two modules will be available virtually starting Fall 2026 through Summer 2028.
  • The other three modules (Student Affairs Code of Conduct, Workplace Safety and Violence, and Student Success) are available asynchronously in Brightspace.

The Refresher Course takes approximately three (3) hours to complete. Once completed, faculty will not need to retake the course until the next contract cycle.

Faculty who complete the Refresher will receive five (5) service credits.
