Composting: Composting offers a natural alternative to chemical fertilizers and helps to divert household waste away from the trash can.  This presentation will teach you the essentials to begin composting at home.

Gardening: Whether your interests are vegetables, flowers, shrubs or trees, learn more about what plants thrive most naturally in Northeast Ohio; their water, soil and light preferences; and how to plant and care for them.

In-depth Study of the Amazon Rainforest, Andes Cloud Forest and/or Galapagos Islands:
Daniel presents one of two slide, video and lecture tours of the Amazon Rainforest and Andes Cloud Forest regions and/or the Galapagos Islands. Daniel has made presentations for audiences of all types and ages, ranging from adult civic groups to elementary, intermediate and high school students. He has also given the various presentations before the Regional Council of High School Science Teachers held at the Cleveland Zoo and received a great deal of positive responses and invitations for subsequent engagements.

Lawn Care: Every home has a lawn. It’s usually the first impression and a well-manicured one can actually add value to your property. No matter the size, learn the essentials about what it needs to look its best. You’ll learn about grass varieties, fertilizers, water needs, organic alternatives and more.

Pest Management: Someday, they’ll inherit the earth – but until then, don’t let them bug you! Pests can be much more that insects, though. This presentation identifies the most common – from mosquitos to deer – and will discuss alternatives to repel or treat them.

Rain Gardens: A rain garden is strategically located to capture storm water spilling from surfaces such as rooftops and driveways. Rain gardens are often described as a “beautiful solution to pollution” because they help to absorb pollutants such as fertilizers and pesticides before they runoff into waterways. This presentation will teach the essentials of building a rain garden.
