NURS-1010 FAQ

You can find the requirements for progressing into NURS-1010 on the NURS-1010 Prerequisites website.

You can also attend a NURS-1010 information session. Register here. We strongly recommend you attend the session to hear information directly from the Tri-C Nursing faculty and staff and have the opportunity to ask questions.

The survey of interest is an email that lets the Nursing program know you are interested in NURS-1010 for the next semester.

You do not need to wait to receive the survey to start your Complio account if you plan to pursue the course. (See "When do I start my Complio account?" below.)

Students who are registered for NURS-1000 or have taken NURS-1000 within the last academic year will receive the survey of interest 45-60 days before the deadline.

If it has been more than one academic year since you have taken NURS-1000, email nursingprereqs@tri-c.edu to indicate your interest in NURS-1010.

Students should only select "Yes" if they plan to meet all requirements for NURS-1010 by the deadline for the upcoming semester.

We will add you to the list of students who wish to be considered for NURS-1010 for the upcoming semester. You will then receive an email that indicates the status of your Complio account within two to three weeks.

If you select "No," you will have to indicate that you are not interested in NURS-1010 for the upcoming semester or that you are no longer interested in pursuing the Nursing program.

You will remain on our list of NURS-1010-eligible students for one academic year after completing NURS-1000. If you want to pursue NURS-1010 and it has been longer than one academic year — or if you want to change your response — email NursingPre-Reqs@tri-c.edu.

The deadlines are updated each academic year and can be found on the Nursing program website.

Generally speaking, the deadlines follow this pattern:

NURS-1010 Summer Course: Last week day of March
NURS-1010 Fall Course: Last week day of June
NURS-1010 Spring Course: Last week day of October

To be considered for NURS-1010, you must:

  • Have completed or be currently enrolled in NURS-1000 and earned a passing grade
  • Passed the HESI A2 Exam or have met the equivalent requirements
  • Created a complete ADB-Complio account that includes:
    • Complete background check
    • All health requirements on your immunization tracker (no red X)

You cannot register for NURS-1010 on your own. The Nursing staff will provide you with the next steps four to six weeks before the deadline date.

ADB-Complio is a third-party vendor where your Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background check, FBI fingerprinting and health requirements are uploaded.

You must first attend a Complio training session. The training will also provide information on completing the BCI background check, FBI fingerprints and health requirements. Click here to register for the training.

You should begin creating your Complio account after attending a NURS-1010 information session and the Complio training session. There is a cost associated with creating this account.

Your BCI background check and FBI fingerprints (date prints are rolled) may not be older than six months at the start of your NURS-1010 semester. If this is completed too soon or you miss the eligibility deadline, you will have to pay to repeat them for the next semester.

You must first attend a Complio training session for information on how to create your Complio account. Click here to register for training. (See "How do I create a Complio account?" above.)

If you are having trouble accessing your account or uploading information, contact Complio Assistance at 1-800-200-0853 or complio@americandatabank.com. American Data Bank is available to assist you Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. MST.

View the Health Careers and Nursing Immunization and Health Requirement Completion Guide.

NURS-1010 is an 8-week course with day and evening options. You will be placed in either Session A or Session B, depending on available space. Day and evening students may be assigned to a weekend clinical (Saturday/Sunday). The NURS-1010 schedule is as follows:

  • Weeks 1-5: Four days a week for six hours a day of lecture and lab classes
  • Weeks 6-8: One day a week of lecture and lab classes for six hours AND two days a week of clinical for eight hours a day

Email NursingPre-Reqs@tri-c.edu or call 216-987-4067.

Refer to the NURS-1010 Prerequisites website.

Email NursingCompliance@tri-c.edu.

You must complete and return the survey of interest by the deadline for the upcoming semester. Watch your email for this survey. Check your junk/spam folder too.
