Background Check Information
Effective Jan. 12, 2013, the BCI process may begin no sooner than six months prior to entry into a health care or nursing program and no later than the first day of program entry. (Program entry is defined as a student’s first day of program classes in which the student begins their program.)
The process for sStudents planning to register for NURS- 1010: Introduction to Patient Care Concepts must begin this process immediately. Failure to meet all required objectives successfully can delay entry into the course.
Cuyahoga Community College’s Nursing program has partnered with CastleBranch to provide you a secure account to manage your program requirements.
Note: If you previously started or completed a BCI/background check and/or a CastleBranch account with Tri-C, contact Nursing Compliance for instructions before beginning this process. NursingCompliance@tri-c.edu
- View the Castle Branch Order Form to begin the process.
- You must set up your CastleBranch account and start the BCI/background check within six months of your anticipated NURS- 1010 Introduction to Patient Care Concepts start date. Please be aware that the background check is time sensitive. If you complete it greater more than six6 months of prior to entry into NURS- 1010 Introduction to Patient Care Concepts, then you will be required to complete an additional background check prior to starting.
- The cost to create a CastleBranch account ranges from $90 to $121 (subject to change), depending on residency status. Both prices include a background check, fingerprints and health -requirement document management.
- Upload the required immunizations, health release form, health insurance attestation form and BLS/CPR requirements to the CastleBranch portal.
