Health and Wellness Coach

NBHWC The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching approved training programBecome a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC)

The Sport and Exercise Studies program is a NBHWC-approved health and wellness coach training and education program. Students who complete the SES 2500 Health and Wellness Coach Certification Prep course will meet the training program requirement needed to sit for the Health and Wellness Coach Certification Exam.

What is Health and Wellness Coaching?

Health and wellness coaching encourages a collaborative relationship between a wellness coach and client, with the goal of providing accountability as clients reach their wellness goals. Health and wellness coaches identify and clarify priorities in the areas of fitness, nutrition, weight management and overall health, assisting clients in reaching an optimal state of well-being.

How long does it take to complete the course?

This three-credit-hour course can be completed in one semester. All courses are offered online with scheduled meeting times.

When is the course available?

Our next section(s) of SES 2500 will begin fall semester 2025.  Section days/times are currently TBD.

Registration opens on March 24.

How do I enroll? 

If you are not a Tri-C student, you will need to apply to the College. Once your application is processed, you will receive email notification and an acceptance letter via U.S. Mail with your Tri-C student ID number. After you receive your student ID number (or are a current student), contact christopher.faciana@tri-c.edu for further assistance.

How much does the course cost? 

The tuition and fees at Tri-C are the lowest in Ohio. Tri-C is supported by the taxpayers of Cuyahoga County and assisted by the state to maintain affordable tuition and fees. View our current tuition and fee schedule. Tuition and fees may vary depending on where you live.
