Physical Fitness Assessment

Applicants must complete and pass all three physical assessment (PFA) events (situps, pushups and 1.5 mile run) during the same testing session based on the Cooper Standard 30th percentile to be considered for acceptance into the Tri-C Police Academy. If you are injured or recovering from an injury, you will not be tested and will need to schedule a date when you are completely recovered. To graduate from the Police Academy, cadets must exit at the 50th percentile.

Physical Fitness Assessment Dates

Registration is required. You must sign up two business days prior to your test date. Class size is limited to 40 participants. Walk-ins are not accepted. Applicants must be in the gymnasium 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time or they will not be able to take the assessment that day. After you have registered for the Physical Fitness Assessment, you will receive an e-mail with instructions regarding procedures, reporting time, etc.

Cost

The cost of the Physical Fitness Assessment is $25 (non-refundable). Using the orange Register for PFA Date Now button, choose the date you would like to complete the assessment. Payment is due at the time of registration. Applicants who don’t pass the initial assessment may retake the assessment at an additional cost.

We are currently not offering the pre-recruit training classes.
