Diagnostic Medical Sonography Degree - Vascular Option

In the Vascular Sonography program students learn to evaluate hemodynamics (blood flow) of peripheral (upper and lower extremities), cerebral (carotid and intracranial vessels), and abdominal blood vessels (aorta, IVC, mesenteric, renal, liver). Vascular ultrasound is used to assess narrowing of the arteries due to plaque, for deep and superficial thrombus, vein mapping, and evaluation and treatment of varicose veins.
