Explore Art Through a New Lens

Student studying art through VR
Immersive Learning: Tri-C students step into art history through VR.

"Step inside a Gothic cathedral, walk through ancient Roman ruins, or examine Egyptian tombs—all without leaving the classroom."

Tri-C's on-campus Art History courses incorporate Meta Quest 3 VR headsets, giving students the unparalleled opportunity to explore the history of human culture through an interactive lens. Creating a dynamic and multisensory learning environment, the use of VR equipment allows our students to formally analyze, interpret and personally connect with historical landmarks and site-specific artworks around the world.

Through virtual explorations of ancient sites and interactive 3D art experiences, students connect history with innovation while building creative and technological skills for careers in museums, galleries, art education, digital media, and more.

On-Campus Art History Courses with Virtual Reality (VR):

  • Survey of Non-Western Art (ART-1040)
  • Art History Survey: Prehistory to Renaissance (ART-2020)
  • Art History Survey: Renaissance to Present (ART-2030)
