Respondus

Respondus logoDescription: Respondus is an assessment creation tool that is integrated with Blackboard so that tests and quizzes and be created in Respondus and then uploaded to Blackboard.

Why should faculty use it?

  • With Respondus instructors can upload a test from a (properly formatted) Word document or create questions within Respondus
  • There are many different question types available
  • Tests can be printed as paper copies

  • Respondus is available on all instructor stations and can also be requested through an ITS software request: https://portal2.tri-c.edu/EGS/NewRequest/InstallSoftware

Blackboard

Blackboard logoDescription: Tests and test questions can be created in Blackboard using the Test tool

Why should faculty use it?

  • This is a perfect tool for creating online assessments
  • Most questions can be automatically graded by Blackboard, saving time
  • There are many different question types available
  • Pools of questions can be created and then selected for tests
  • The order of questions and answers can be random for each student
  • Question groups can be created so that each student would receive different questions for the same learning objective, helping to lesson the possibility of cheating
