“Tri-C was the best choice for me. It changed my life in that I now know that I can accomplish significant meaningful goals,” Threatt said.Tri-C turned into a family experience for her at the Eastern Campus, landing her on the links with her dad for a course in golf and in the classroom, sharing courses with her sister. Threatt had a successful academic experience and recalls her induction into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She also served two consecutive terms on Student Senate.
In June of 1995 she earned her Associate of Arts degree, with a concentration in liberal arts. Encouraged by her Tri-C professors, she continued her studies, graduating from Notre Dame College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in paralegal studies; then earning her Master’s degree in public administration from Cleveland State University; and her Master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati.
Today, Threatt is a case administrator and backup courtroom deputy with the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Ohio.
Looking back on her decision to attend Tri-C, Threatt commented, “Small, humble beginnings can lead to special and memorable outcomes that will last a lifetime. Tri-C gave me the confidence to get out of my comfort zone by being exposed to different people, cultures, courses, and the different teaching styles of the professors. Life is life, and it is up to me as to what I do with it.”
