Artificial Intelligence

ZAIT1001 Thinking With AI, Part 1: Foundations and Everyday Skills
Learn practical, job-ready AI skills you can use immediately. Over eight weeks, you will master clear prompting, safe and ethical use, basic model selection, and writing in your own voice using ChatGPT Custom Instructions and Claude Styles. We will practice web search with citations, reduce hallucinations through verification and turn routine work into reliable templates. Each week includes one in-person and one remote session, hands-on labs and short, between-class activities. You will finish with a small, real-world mini-project that improves a task you already do, plus a simple rubric you can reuse to evaluate AI outputs for clarity, accuracy and responsibility.
ZAIT1002 Thinking With AI, Part 2: Projects, Data and Capstone
Build on your foundation by creating AI projects that work with your own files and data. In this eight-week continuation, you will set up Projects in ChatGPT or Claude, upload and query PDFs, CSVs and docs, refine instructions for reliability and visualize results for decision-making. We will explore light coding without fear, simple data analysis patterns and an approachable introduction to embeddings and retrieval augmented generation, always with privacy and organizational policy in mind. Each week blends a live demo, guided labs and peer review. You will complete a capstone project that addresses a real problem related to your work or studies, accompanied by a write-up explaining the methods used, potential risks and next steps.
