Health Information Management Technology

ENG-1010       College Composition I            
BIO-2331*      Anatomy and Physiology I        
IT-1090          Computer Applications            
MA-1010         Intro to Medical Terminology   
Eligibility for Math 1410

*Seven-year limit on Sciences. Prerequisite GPA 2.0 and overall GPA 2.0

Health Unit Coordinator

Eligibility for ENG 1010
MA 1010 or MA 1020

Medical Billig Specialist

Eligibility for ENG 1010
Eligibility for MATH 1000-level

Cancer Registrar Certificate

Candidates must have earned a minimum of an Associate Degree from a college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The degree must include the following courses:

  • MA-1010 Intro to Medical Terminology (or MA-1020 and MA-2010)
  • BIO-2331 A&P I
  • BIO-2341 A&P II
  • ENG-1010 English College Composition
  • MATH 1000-level or higher

These courses must all have a minimum of a C grade. Graduates of an accredited HIMT degree program are best suited for this certificate. Students who do not have a degree that includes the above courses must complete the courses before applying for the Cancer Registrar program. Applicants must also include a current business resume with their application.  Program director approval is required for admission to this program.
