For Veterans
About 22 veterans die by suicide daily, and veterans’ suicide rates are 50% higher than the civilian population. As of September 2014, there were about 2.7 million American veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars (2.6 million Vietnam veterans fought in Vietnam, and 8.2 million "Vietnam Era Veterans" served anywhere during any time of the Vietnam War). According to RAND, it is estimated that at least 20% of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans suffer from PTSD and/or depression. 50% of Veterans diagnosed with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) do NOT seek treatment.
