New Tri-C Tuition Rate Takes Effect This Month
Cost per credit hour will remain lowest in Ohio
The Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Board of Trustees has approved an increase in tuition and fees, raising the cost by $5 per credit hour. The increase goes into effect on Friday, May 24.
The new cost per credit hour — $129.54 for Cuyahoga County residents — remains the lowest in Ohio for the upcoming academic year, with students paying just 18% of the cost of their education.
The tuition increase is necessary to ensure the College’s ability to provide high-quality academic and workforce training programs and critical student support services.
"As an economic engine for Northeast Ohio, Tri-C provides an excellent return on investment for students and the community," said Board Chair Helen Forbes Fields. "The College remains committed to keeping costs for students as low as possible so people can access a life-changing education and a better future."
The tuition adjustments will cost the typical Tri-C student about $40 more per semester. That money will go toward expanding the student support initiatives that have helped lift the College’s graduation rate to record highs.
The College offers students a variety of options to lower their academic costs. These include the Tuition Guarantee Program, Tuition Incentive Programs such as the 15+ Perks and 30 Hour Credit Standard, scholarship and grant opportunities, and Student Emergency Fund programs.
