This program will be an alternative for students that desire to take and pass the internationally recognized Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam before or during the completion of their Networking Hardware degree. Also, other persons, for example, those that are currently working in the field could take advantage of the program to prepare for the exam, there by adding more legitimacy to their skill set. The courses are currently offered as part of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical-Electronic Technology with a Concentration in Computer Networking Hardware. It is directly related to the STEM initiative.
Cuyahoga Community College has partnered with networking industry leader Cisco Systems to offer official Cisco education classes at the Metro, West, East and Westshore campuses.
The Cisco Networking Academy program consists of four classes designed to teach you how to design, build, and maintain computer networks, as well as prepare you for internationally recognized certifications, including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Network+.
Tri-C offers these four Cisco classes through our Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department. You can take these courses as part of your degree, or simply take them outside of your degree program and receive a certificate to add a highly respected credential to your resume.
These courses can usually be completed within one year with certain prerequisites or approvals and are listed in the course schedule book as follows:
EET 1302: Cisco 1 – Basic Networking Technology
EET 1312: Cisco 2 – Basic Routing and Switching
EET 2302: Cisco 3 – Intermediate Routing and Switching
EET 2312: Cisco 4 – Basic WAN Technologies
