Biology

Academic School: Liberal Arts and Sciences

The biology department has a course to fit your particular needs whether you are a student who is:

  • trying to fulfill a science requirement for particular degree,
  • interested in taking major level courses to transfer to a four year institution,
  • attempting to complete the prerequisite courses for a health career program, or
  • interested in learning more about the living world around you.

The biology department is committed to utilizing the latest in high-technology in their academic instruction.

The courses are, in general, designed to parallel the freshman and sophomore level courses at four-year colleges and universities. Although most Tri-C credits will transfer, transferability can vary from institution to institution. Students are advised to contact a Tri-C academic counselor to answer specific questions about transfer credit.

Some courses have prerequisite requirements that must be met before you can register. Prerequisites are listed at the end of each course description. Select your course of study and make sure you have the appropriate knowledge and/or skills to be successful in the course in which you wish to enroll.

If you are planning to take courses to transfer to another college work closely with Tri-C counselors to follow transfer guides and agreements set up with our university partners. You can also use Transferology, a free online advising tool designed for transfer students. It provides access to information that will help students plan for their academic future.
