Work Up a Sweat at Tri-C's Autumn Blaze 5K
Sept. 13 race winds through Western Campus and benefits local nonprofit agencies
PARMA — Competitors can work up a sweat and support a great cause at the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Autumn Blaze 5K, running on a course on the Western Campus.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, the United Negro College Fund and the United Way of Greater Cleveland. These agencies provide direct services to those in the regional community with the greatest needs. The race — part of the College's annual giving campaign — began in 2015.
Last year's race raised more than $3,700 for the nonprofit agencies, with 150 runners competing.
The 11th annual Autumn Blaze 5K Run, 5K Walk and 1-Mile Walk begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Tri-C's Western Campus in Parma. The fast and flat course winds through the campus grounds at 11000 Pleasant Valley Road.
Registration for the Autumn Blaze 5K is available online (tri-c.edu/5kevents). Preregistration is $25 for community members and $20 for Tri-C students. All preregistered runners and walkers receive an Autumn Blaze shirt.
On-site registration will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on the day of the event in the Western Campus Theatre lobby. Shirts for day-of registrants will be available while supplies last.
The 5K race will be chip-timed, with music, light refreshments and a medal ceremony.
