Unlocking Growth
How MR PC surpassed goals with the help of Goldman Sachs 10KSB
Mark Wolanzyk, owner of MR PC in Warren, Ohio, credits both his company's transformation and his perspective as a business leader to the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) program at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).
Wolanzyk graduated in the fall of 2023 after first connecting with the program through the Small Business Administration. He sought more than just new services — he was searching for a new standard of excellence in the tech industry.
The program delivered in unexpected ways.
"Going through it was like an MBA on steroids," Wolanzyk said.
He learned to expand offerings, such as adding social media services, which allowed MR PC to become a true technology partner for clients. He also overhauled internal operations with new policies and procedures, resulting in greater efficiency, improved hiring practices and increased profitability. Most crucially, the program gave him confidence to make the business more resilient and pursue bold growth.
MR PC surpassed its original goal of opening two satellite locations. Instead, it opened three — Cleveland, Florida and Pittsburgh — and added eight new jobs. This year, the company is projecting nearly 50% growth, far beyond Wolanzyk's initial plan. He attributes this directly to what he learned and implemented through the 10KSB program.
Wolanzyk's commitment to customer service stands out, especially in a time when many have become accustomed to lower standards. He personally conducts quarterly reviews with each client and often surprises them with pizza or donuts, focusing on genuine connection. As an alumnus ambassador, he continues to support and be supported by fellow 10KSB graduates, valuing the robust network it offers.
His advice to fellow small business owners?
"Don't give up if you don't get in the first time," he said. "If you get the chance, do it — this is something you need to do."
