Tri-C Recognized Among Top Workplaces in Northeast Ohio and Higher Education
College earns 19th consecutive NorthCoast 99 and named a Great College to Work For
CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) remains one of the top places to work for in the region and one of the top colleges to work for nationally. Tri-C has received its 19th consecutive NorthCoast 99 award and was named a 2025 Great College to Work For.
Ami Hollis, Tri-C's vice president for people, culture and talent development, said both honors reflect the contributions and dedication from faculty and staff.
"These recognitions reaffirm what we already know: our greatest strength is our people," Hollis said. "Together, we continue to strengthen a workplace culture that inspires pride, connectedness and belonging."
The NorthCoast 99 award honors the 99 best workplaces for top talent in 22 Northeast Ohio counties. This year, Tri-C earned a special category award for Talent Attraction, Acquisition & Onboarding, marking its fifth special recognition in the last seven years:
- 2025: Talent Attraction, Acquisition & Onboarding
- 2024: Employee Well-Being
- 2022: Large Employer (500+ employees)
- 2021: Employee Engagement & Talent Development
- 2019: Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding
Presented by ERC, the NorthCoast 99 Awards recognize companies with human resources practices that drive results, provide competitive advantages and allow businesses to innovate and grow.
Applicants are evaluated based on policies and practices related to the attraction and retention of top performers, as well as data collected from employee surveys. The process provides a blueprint for possible workplace initiatives and validates current organizational initiatives.
More than 3,000 people work at Tri-C, making it one of the region's largest employers.
Tri-C Named 2025 Great College to Work For
Nationally, the College was just one of 76 institutions to earn recognition as a 2025 Great College to Work For. Tri-C achieved significant increases across every category based on employee feedback during the spring, the primary criterion for recognition.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: a questionnaire that captures employment data and workplace policies from each institution and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. Detailed survey results and insights will be shared with the College community after they become available.
"These honors highlight the commitment, creativity and passion of our faculty and staff who make Tri-C an exceptional place to work, learn and grow," Hollis said. "Their dedication continues to foster a culture where employees feel valued, supported and inspired to give their best each day."
