Tri-C Receives Bag of Hope Award From Greater Cleveland Food Bank
College raised $15,000 toward Harvest for Hunger campaign
CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) has been honored with a 2025 Bag of Hope Award from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for its outstanding commitment to fighting hunger in Northeast Ohio.
The award, presented in June during the 34th annual Harvest for Hunger campaign recognition ceremony, recognizes organizations with 200 or more employees that demonstrate exceptional support for the campaign. Tri-C earned the honor for its Collegewide fundraising initiative, which raised $15,000 to support the Food Bank's mission — surpassing its original goal of $10,000.
Faculty and staff from across the College's campuses contributed to the campaign, helping to provide tens of thousands of meals to individuals and families in need throughout the region. Tri-C President Michael A. Baston, J.D., Ed.D., and Vice President of Government Relations Claire Rosacco accepted the award on behalf of the College.
Harvest for Hunger is one of the nation's largest annual food and fund drives, supporting hundreds of hunger relief programs across six counties in Northeast Ohio. The campaign collected more than $11 million to provide 33 million meals for hunger relief organizations.
Tri-C's efforts reflect its ongoing commitment to service and community impact.
The Bag of Hope Award highlights the power of collective action and underscores the role that educational institutions can play in advancing food security and community well-being.
