Tri-C Partners with ACUE to Strengthen Teaching Practices
New professional development initiative reinforces College's commitment to student success
Tri-C's Board of Trustees approved a new partnership with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) to strengthen teaching practices, enhance student engagement and improve academic outcomes across the institution.
Through this collaboration, Tri-C faculty members and colleagues can participate in ACUE's evidence-based professional development programs, which are designed to equip educators with proven teaching strategies that support student achievement, retention and completion.
"Student success begins with excellent teaching," said Lindsay English, Ph.D., Tri-C's Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs "By partnering with ACUE, we are investing in our faculty and reaffirming our commitment to delivering a high-quality, student-centered learning experience."
The partnership aligns with Tri-C’s strategic transformation pillars: activating people and potential, aligning path and purpose, and amplifying community impact. It also supports the College’s priorities around academic innovation, continuous growth, evidence-based decision making and community upward mobility.
Through the ACUE partnership, faculty participants will engage in professional learning experiences focused on active learning, inclusive teaching practices, effective online instruction, meaningful assessment and creating engaging classroom environments.
Research has shown that students taught by ACUE-credentialed faculty are more likely to persist in their studies, earn higher grades and feel more connected to their learning experience.
The partnership will launch this summer with an initial cohort beginning in the fall.
