Tri-C Foundation Honors Wayne Foley for Distinguished Service
College advocate receives 2025 Heath Oliver Distinguished Director Award
CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Foundation board of directors awarded its 2024 Heath Oliver Distinguished Director Award to Wayne Foley during the nonprofit organization's annual meeting in June.
Wayne Foley is the president and CEO of Kyntronics Inc. and formerly served as the president and CEO of Midwest Precision Holdings, a Northeast Ohio-based engineered products design and manufacturing company serving aerospace, defense, energy and fluid power markets. He joined the board in 2007.
He has served on the executive committee since 2018 and became the chairperson of the audit committee in 2021. The Tri-C Foundation has achieved perfect audits for 14 consecutive years under the oversight of this strong, well-led audit committee, ensuring its ongoing accountability.
"Wayne's expertise, dedication and integrity — and that of the audit committee itself — is instrumental in maintaining that clean audit track record," said Pat Pastore, outgoing chairperson of the Tri-C Foundation board. "This fiscal performance demonstrates to our generous community of supporters that Tri-C is a trusted, effective steward of their charitable investments."
"We are fortunate to have such a dedicated expert and leader," said Megan O'Bryan, Tri-C Foundation president. "He has demonstrated such a deep commitment to Tri-C and our students through his outstanding committee leadership and his personal generosity."
Since becoming a director, Foley has faithfully supported Tri-C both personally and through his company, contributing every year to scholarships, events, levy campaigns and the Student Emergency Fund. He has also participated in advocacy visits with public officials at the state and national levels to help elected officials better understand the benefits of supporting Tri-C and its students.
"I am proud and honored to be a member of the Foundation board, supporting the important work they do to assist Tri-C students and help make their lives better," the Chagrin Falls resident said in a recent interview.
The Heath Oliver Distinguished Director Award was established in memory of Heath Oliver, a longtime Foundation board director and the president of Bardons & Oliver. He was a member of the Foundation board from 1988 until his death in 2009. Under his leadership, scholarships for Tri-C students became a fundraising priority, the Foundation successfully launched its first major gifts campaign, and the Presidential Scholarship Luncheons raised significant dollars to benefit students.
