Tri-C Earns 17th Consecutive Military Friendly Designation
College recognized as Top 10 school for work with veterans and military members and support of military spouses
CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) continues to help military veterans activate their potential by offering them supportive pathways that guide them from military service to meaningful academic and career success.
In recognition of that commitment, the College earned its 17th consecutive Military Friendly® School designation for its service to veteran and active military students and their families. The College was recognized as a Top 10 Military Friendly School and a Top 10 Military Spouse Friendly School among large community colleges.
Institutions were evaluated in categories such as graduation rates, student retention and job placement success.
"We know that student veterans arrive at Tri-C with different goals and life circumstances, so our focus is providing them with clear and supportive paths that help them achieve their purpose," said Marjorie Morrison, director of the College's Veteran and Military Connected Services. "Our team works with hundreds of veterans and military families each year to ensure they feel supported and connected throughout their time here. We are proud to once again be recognized as a Military Friendly School and a Military Spouse Friendly School."
More than 3,200 schools participated in the 2026–2027 survey, with 878 earning special awards for going above the standard. The full list of schools is available at the Military Friendly Schools website.
The Military Friendly program was created to help service members and their families select the best college, university or trade school to receive the education and skills needed to pursue a civilian career.
Tri-C works with hundreds of military families each year through its veteran service centers, which offer a full array of support services to help veterans reach educational and career goals.
The centers are located at the Eastern Campus in Highland Hills, the Metropolitan Campus in Cleveland, the Western Campus in Parma and the Westshore Campus in Westlake. Staff members build relationships with veterans on campus and help them navigate their unique challenges to meet their educational goals.
