Tri-C Campus President Appointed Chair of West Shore YMCA Advisory Board

Scott Latiolais will provide insight and advocacy as advisory member

WESTLAKE — Scott Latiolais, Ed.D., the president of the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Westshore Campus, has been appointed chair of the advisory board of the West Shore Family YMCA.

Latiolais will lead the advisory board and provide valuable insights to help ensure the West Shore branch is responsive to community needs, financially sustainable and delivers programs offering support and enrichment for Westshore residents.

"I look forward to serving the Westlake area as a vital community resource and supporting the West Shore Family YMCA to empower young people, enhance health and well-being, and foster a sense of community," Latiolais said.

Latiolais joined Tri-C in August 2022 after a nationwide search for the Westshore Campus president. Latiolais' innovative and student-focused experience in higher education includes senior-level expertise in career and transfer education, experience in adjunct faculty and curriculum development, and a track record of improving student access, learning, completion and employment.

Latiolais received a B.A. in English and French Linguistics from Louisiana State University, an M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Tennessee and an Ed.D. in Community College Leadership from Northern Illinois University.

Each branch of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland has its own advisory board members who play a pivotal role in aligning the organization's mission with the needs of the local community. Advisory board members advocate for their community needs, offer strategic guidance, assist in fundraising efforts, provide program evaluation support, and act as ambassadors for their local YMCA.
