Ten Tri-C Students Named to 2026 All-Ohio Academic Team
College leads the way with most honorees among state's community colleges
CLEVELAND — Ten Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) students — the most of any two-year college in the state — were named to the 2026 All-Ohio Academic Team, which recognizes the top community college students in academics, leadership and community service.
Students from across Ohio's 22 community colleges were chosen for this year's team. All team members are recognized in April as part of Community College Month.
The following Tri-C students, designated by teams, made the All-Ohio Academic Team:
- First Team: Marcella Moore of Bedford Heights (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Eastern Campus)
- Second Team: Verona Mahilet of Cleveland (School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Computer Science, Metropolitan Campus)
- Third Team: Harry Anderson of South Euclid (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Eastern Campus); Aniya Alex of Euclid (School of Nursing and Health Professions, Metropolitan Campus); Taylor Confer of Parma (School of Business, Legal Professions and Hospitality, Western Campus); Alexis Hurchanik of Independence (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Western Campus); Victoria Kovalsky of Brunswick (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Metropolitan Campus); Tuan Khoi Phan of Brooklyn (Workforce Innovation, Western Campus); Mona Shaban of Strongsville (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Westshore Campus); and Chris Wise of Lakewood (School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Computer Science, Westshore Campus)
Students were nominated by College faculty, staff and other campus leaders. First-team honorees will receive $1,000 scholarships, second-team members will get $500 scholarships, and third-team members will get $250 scholarships.
The All-Ohio Academic Team program is a collaboration between the Ohio Association of Community Colleges and the Phi Theta Kappa national honor society.
