Self-Defense Training for Women This Spring at Tri-C Locations in Westlake, Cleveland and Brunswick
Classes at Westshore Campus, Jerry Sue Thornton Center and Brunswick University Center teach techniques for all ages, abilities
CLEVELAND — To promote self-defense education and awareness, Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) is offering training for women with little to no experience this spring.
The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Basic Physical Self-Defense program empowers women through a series of four classes that include lectures, discussions and demonstrations of self-defense techniques. Many colleges and universities offer R.A.D. training for various types of assault.
Women of all ages and abilities will:
- Learn proven self-defense techniques
- Develop awareness to recognize and avoid physical assault
- Develop skills in a safe, secure environment
Classes take place:
- Mondays and Wednesdays, March 16 – 25, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Westshore Campus (31001 Clemens Road, Westlake 44145). Registration begins Feb. 16.
- Mondays and Wednesdays, April 13 – 22, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Jerry Sue Thornton Center (2500 E. 22nd, Cleveland 44115). Registration begins March 16.
- Mondays and Wednesdays, May 13 – 22, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Brunswick University Center (3605 Center Road, Brunswick, 44212). Registration begins April 13.
