High Scores: Tri-C Student-Athletes Earn All-Academic Honors

Thirty Triceratops recognized by Ohio Community College Athletic Conference

Graphic of Tri-C logo and text: OCCAC All-Academic HonoreesThirty student-athletes at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) received All-Academic recognition from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference for their classroom success during Fall 2023.

To gain All-Academic status, students need at least a 3.3 GPA while completing 12 or more credits during the semester. Six Triceratops students carried a 4.0 GPA.

The following Tri-C students, listed by team, were recognized (* indicates a 4.0 GPA):

Baseball: Jackson Campbell (Australia); Carter Gast* (Olmsted Falls); Mason Koons (Hilliard); Ricardo Medrano-Rodriguez (Cleveland); Zachary Barber (Brunswick); Colin Russ (North Olmsted); and Zachary Whetzel (Sagamore Hills)

Women’s Basketball: Artica Conner (Cleveland) and Tori Smith (Seville)

Men’s Basketball: Devonte Greene (Cleveland) and Mikael Hill (Cleveland Heights)

Softball: Abbie Gayner (Richfield); Jeanne Hujer* (Richfield); Maelly McGowan (St. Paris); Cecilia Stephens (Edinburgh); and Chase Toy (Salem)

Volleyball: Julia Head (Oakwood Village); Mackenzie Langford (Aurora); Mallory Rice (Streetsboro); and Makenzi Thompson (Ravenna)

Cross Country and Track & Field: Hannah Cunningham* (East Palestine) and Julia Head (Oakwood Village)

Men’s Soccer: Sheldon Battiste (Parma Heights); Aldair Cardenas-Villamizar (Parma Heights) Eamon DeLeon* (Strongsville): Clayton Kremer (Medina): Ethan Losneck (Berea): Ahmad Nawshad* (Parma): Stephen Simpson (Parma Heights); and Jack Waters* (Medina)
