Honoring Those Who Served: 2023 Veterans Day Observance Features Ceremony, Service Project
Tri-C will honor those who served with event at Western Campus on Nov. 9
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will honor U.S. military veterans from across the College and community with reflections and a service project at its Western Campus in observance of Veterans Day.
The program will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Western Campus, with speeches from Lisa Williams, Western Campus president; Eric Gordon, senior vice president of Student Development and Education Pipeline; and Matthew Miller, manager of Veteran and Military Connected Services.
“Veterans Day gives us an opportunity to appreciate the courageous individuals who served so proudly,” said Marjorie Morrison, Tri-C director for Veteran and Military Connected Services. “The safety and freedoms that we enjoy are due to their part in defending our nation.”
Following the program, students, staff and faculty can assemble hygiene kits for Cleveland-area veterans’ shelters. Students can also write thank you cards to be distributed at a local Department of Veterans Affairs nursing home.
Since its founding in 1963, Tri-C has enrolled more than 40,000 service members, with many graduating and starting successful civilian careers. Tri-C's Veteran and Military Connected Services offers events each month at the College’s campuses.
Tri-C has earned 14 consecutive Military Friendly® School designations in recognition of its commitment to veterans and active military students.
The Western Campus is located at W. 11000 Pleasant Valley Road in Parma.
