Mental Health Services

Taking care of your mental health is just as important as your academic success, and our College is committed to supporting both. We're expanding efforts to ensure every student has access to the mental health, wellness and suicide prevention resources they need to thrive.

Our services are designed to help you explore solutions to personal concerns that may be impacting your educational experience and personal development. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed or just need someone to talk to, you don't have to deal with it alone.

Other Campus Services

These services serve as a gateway to additional resources, helping you discover available support systems both on and off campus.

Community Pathways HUB (Metro Campus)

A community care coordination agency in partnership with the Better Health Pathways HUB, connecting at-risk populations to pathways for prenatal care, social services, medical referrals, education and employment resources, housing and more.

Counseling Center

Currently enrolled students can access short-term personal counseling services at each Tri-C campus. You'll meet with professional counselors or psychologists who can help you clarify concerns, provide support and guidance, and work with you toward meaningful resolutions.

Help is Here (HIH)

Balancing school, work, family and social life can feel overwhelming. Tri-C and the community offer free mental health and suicide prevention resources to support your well-being, including additional support through Help Is Here. Download the Help Is Here app to access mental health and wellness tools anytime, anywhere.

Ombudsman's Office

An Ombudsman (or ombuds/ombudsperson) is an independent, impartial official who investigates complaints, facilitates the resolution of concerns, and advocates for fair processes within organizations such as government agencies, hospitals, colleges, and corporations.

Supporting Mental Health Campus-Wide

Tri-C is committed to ensuring that every student has access to the support they need for mental health, wellness and crisis situations. We recognize that challenges can arise any time, and our goal is to create a safe, informed and supportive campus community.

To strengthen our response to mental health, the College is developing a Campus-Wide Mental Health Crisis Manual. This comprehensive guide will provide clear steps for students, staff and community members to recognize warning signs of distress, de-escalation tips, assess immediate risks and connect individuals to professional resources quickly and effectively.

All staff have the option to participate in the Mental Health First Aid training to ensure they are prepared to support students experiencing mental health challenges or crises. By equipping our campus community with knowledge, tools and resources, we aim to:

  • Respond to mental health concerns quickly and confidently
  • Connect students to professional help when needed
  • Reduce stigma and promote a culture of care
  • Support student well-being and academic success

Our commitment is clear: mental health matters. Together, we can create a campus where every student feels supported, understood and empowered to seek help.

Mental Health First Aid trainings are available through the College's Compass page.
