Personal Counseling

Explore solutions concerning personal concerns impacting your educational experience and personal development.

Our Counseling Centers provide short term (7 sessions) personal counseling services for currently enrolled students. Professional counselors or psychologists can help you clarify issues, provide support and guidance, as well as work toward a resolution. In addition to counseling, we offer a Personal Development course (GEN 1010) and many free workshops.

Issues students bring to counseling:

  • Adjustment to college
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Balancing the demands of school, family and work
  • Isolation and alienation
  • Grief and loss
  • Difficulty with alcohol or other drugs
  • Test anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Family members' issues
  • Sexual identity
  • Gender identity
  • Eating disorders and body image
  • Decision making
  • Needing information about community agencies/local resources

If it appears your needs cannot be met at the Counseling Center, your psychologist or counselor will attempt to locate appropriate on or off campus resources that best meet your needs.

Your well-being is very important to us. To schedule your confidential appointment, please call 216-987-6000. Please specify which campus when you call.
