Full-time Benefits

All full-time employees are eligible to elect benefits in the Electives Flexible Benefits Plan. Benefits are effective the 1st of the month following the date of hire unless the date of hire falls on the first working day of the month. In that case, benefits will be effective retroactive to the 1st of that month.

The Medical Mutual Preferred Choice PPO Plan offers highly competitive hospital and physician discounts. Elect the coverage level you need--employee only, employee +1, or employee + 2 or more dependents. more...

Prescription Drug Coverage
If enrolled in the Medical Mutual plan, you will be covered under the prescription drug program administered by CVS Caremark. The program provides both a retail card for purchasing acute (immediate prescriptions) and a mail order program for longer term maintenance drugs. more...

Dental Plan
The Cigna FlexAdvantage DPPO and DHMO plan allows you to select either a Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO) managed care plan or a Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) plan. You have the flexibility to change between these two plan options as often as you like by simply calling the number on your ID card. more...

Flexible Spending Accounts
Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts and a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts are available. FSA's allow you to put away pretax dollars to be used for qualified out of pocket medical, dental, vision, and dependent care expenses for yourself, your spouse, and your eligible dependents. more...

Life Insurance
Standard benefit of 2-1/2 times your base salary, up to the permitted maximum, at no cost to you. Dependent Life insurance coverage is available for your spouse/domestic partner and dependent children to the age of 26 years.

Accident Insurance
Accident insurance provides a cash benefit directly to you when you or a covered dependent incurs a covered accidental injury off the job. This payment can assist in covering extra expenses associated with your treatment and recovery. more...

Disability Benefits
Short-term and long-term disability benefits of 70% of your monthly salary up to a stated maximum are available.

Critical Illness Insurance
If serious illness strikes, the last thing you need to worry about is how to pay your bills. Critical Illness insurance provides a cash benefit to you or your covered spuse when you or your spouse is diagnosed with a covered critical illness. more...

Mandatory Retirement Plans
Faculty employees participate in The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS). All other employees participate in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio (OPERS). Full-time employees may elect to contribute to an Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) in lieu of STRS/OPERS. more...

Voluntary Retirement Plans
Two voluntary retirement savings plans, 403(b) and 457(b) defined contribution plans. Both are tax-deferred, defined contribution retirement savings plans designed for long term savings. more...

Reduced Tuition
Employees pay only the general fee to take Tri-C credit courses; dependents pay the general fee and an additional fee of $5 per semester.

Wellness Program
Provides employees with the resources to reach their personal wellness goals and activities to maintain their physical, mental, and social health. Participants can earn a financial reward for reaching their wellness goal.

Time Off
Non faculty have 11 paid holidays, plus paid time off for vacation, illness, and personal reasons. Tenure Track/Tenured Faculty and Lecturers receive 5 paid holidays and paid time off for illness and personal reasons.
