English as a Second Language (ESL) - In-Person Placement
Students who are not placed in an English or math course at the College based on ACT, SAT, high school GPA, or previous college credit, and English was not the first language you learned to speak and write, or if you have previously completed English as a second language (ESL) classes, complete ESL placement first. There are three parts which must be completed in order. This should be done before you attempt an English or math placement test.
Complete the following steps to take your ESL Placement Test in-person:
Step 1 - Complete ESL Placement prep
Know what to expect and how to prepare for your upcoming ESL Placement test.
Step 2 - Make an appointment at your campus Testing Center
Call, email, or walk-in to make an appointment at your preferred campus Testing Center.
Step 3 - Take your ESL Placement Test
Arrive at The Testing Center at the day and time of your appointment. Be sure to bring a photo ID. Students may choose either the typed or handwritten version of the ESL Placement Test.
Step 4 - Meet with an ESL Evaluator
After you complete your ESL Placement test, a Testing Center representative will give you details on how to schedule your interview.
