Margarita "Margie" Diaz (she/her/ella) serves as the director of workplace culture engagement at The MetroHealth System, where she leads systemwide efforts to strengthen organizational culture, elevate employee engagement, and embed the CARES approach and STARIQ values into everyday practice.

In her role, Diaz partners with leaders and teams across all disciplines to cultivate a workplace where every employee feels connected, valued and empowered to contribute to exceptional patient and community care. She drives initiatives that enhance belonging, psychological safety and cultural competence - core elements that support MetroHealth's mission and reinforce a consistent, compassionate experience for both patients and employees.

With a holistic and people-centered lens, Diaz integrates best practices in engagement, DEI, service excellence and change leadership. Her work focuses on advancing connectedness across the system; strengthening communication and relationships; enhancing team morale; and equipping leaders with tools that sustain high-performing, inclusive environments. By aligning culture-building strategies with operational goals, she ensures teams are supported in delivering equitable, high quality care to the diverse communities MetroHealth serves.

A respected leader in health care for over 25 years, Diaz was an inaugural member of the first Ohio chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses and has been recognized among Cleveland's 100+ Latinos You Must Know. She is a lifelong Cleveland resident, raised in the Scranton neighborhood. Diaz has been happily married for over 30 years and is the proud mother of two adult children.
