Prerequisites
These four core courses must be completed prior to applying:
- HTEC 1000 ̶ Introduction to Patient Care (Offered only at Tri-C Metro Campus. No substitutes accepted.)
- ENG 1010 ̶ College Composition I
- BIO 2331 ̶ Anatomy and Physiology I
- MA 1020 ̶ Medical Terminology I
GPA for the above courses must be 3.0 or higher, with no grade below a “C.”
Any course can be repeated once for a better grade. Withdrawal (“W”) counts as an attempt.

Each prerequisite course may only be repeated once to improve a grade. A withdrawal (“W”) from a course counts as a repeated attempt.
Eligibility for MATH 1240 or higher
Must be eligible to take MATH 1240 (Contemporary Mathematics) or higher for acceptance into the program.
40 Hours of documented observation/volunteer/work time
Must be completed within the two-year period prior to date of application and time must be split between two different types of physical therapy setting. Submit a completed experience verification form found on the program website. (COVID-19 update: Provisions have been made for observation hours ̶ see website.)
10-year limit for sciences credit
Science courses must be less than 10 years old.
Overall College GPA of 2.7
This GPA calculation will include all current and previous college credits.
Must be at least 18 with a high school diploma or GED
Must be have turned 18 by August of the year admitted to the program.
TOEFL scores for international and ESL students
Based on the English language proficiency requirements used for admission to the College.
