The Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Theatre Arts program can help prepare you for many career opportunities, including work in theatre production, performance or management. At Tri-C, you can study and practice the art of acting, stage management, technical theatre, sound and lighting, costumes and make-up, as well as theatre appreciation and the history of theatre. Students may choose to enroll in the Associate of Arts program with an emphasis in Theatre Performance or Theatre Technology with the goal of transferring toward a bachelor's degree.

What is Theatre?

Theatre is not a building, although it can be.  For most - Theatre is a verb involving the exchange of thoughts and ideas between two groups of people: actors and audience – and each group must share in the performance.

Who benefits from taking courses in Theatre?

Everyone because Theatre classes teach individuals how to perform or how to appreciate performance.

Careers available?

Of course there are careers in Theatre: onstage, back stage, writing plays, producing plays, but one need not have a career in the theatre to benefit from taking Theatre Arts Classes. There is always the Theatre Aesthetic to consider – the pursuit of beauty and the performing arts.
