LMS Faculty Champions and OLAT Ambassadors: Supporting Faculty with Migration to D2L’s Brightspace

As you begin to migrate course content from Blackboard to D2L’s Brightspace, you may find it helpful to collaborate with other faculty in your discipline or at your campus. Our LMS Faculty Champions and OLAT Ambassadors are here to help!

How LMS Faculty Champions and OLAT Ambassadors Can Assist Fellow Faculty

  • Help convey faculty perspective on Brightspace
  • Share strategies surrounding content type and subject area
  • Make suggestions on organizing content for your specific discipline
  • Test various aspects of your Brightspace course to make sure they work (i.e., guinea pig student)
  • Provide additional training beyond what has already been completed
  • Advise on which gradebook settings are most appropriate
  • Review grade center
  • Link First Day Books (beginning Fall 2024)

Complete Required Online Training

D2L’s Brightspace Basics for Faculty Curriculum (D2L100) is a required three-part, on-demand training in Compass and will take approximately three hours to complete. Please make sure to finish this training before reaching out to the Champions and Ambassadors for assistance.

Drop-In Sessions

One and three hour drop-in Support Sessions are available for you to get direct support from Champions, Ambassadors, and CLE staff. These are available in-person or virtually.

Individual Meetings

Faculty Champions and OLAT Ambassadors are available to meet with faculty virtually via Webex or in-person at the campus CLEs. To schedule a time, email the individual with whom you would like to collaborate. Reference the Faculty Support Flowchart to learn who to contact for your specific question.
