Eight Tri-C Students Named to All-Ohio Academic Team
Rachel Ketler named 2025 Phi Theta Kappa Orlowski Award winner
CLEVELAND — Eight Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) students — the most of any two-year college in the state — were named to the All-Ohio Community College Academic Team, which recognizes the top students in academics, leadership and community service.
Fifty-two students from across Ohio were chosen for this year's team.
One of those scholars, Rachel Ketler of Orrville, was also chosen to receive the Phi Theta Kappa Orlowski Candidate Award for 2025. The award, given in memory of the late National Officer Steve Orlowski, is presented to the candidate chosen by their peers as best representing the spirit of Phi Theta Kappa.
The following Tri-C students, designated by teams, made the All-Ohio Academic Team:
- First Team: Fatema Abdulaziz of Westlake (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Westshore Campus); Valentina Teles of Parma Heights (School of Nursing and Health Professions, Westshore Campus)
- Second Team: Rachel Ketler of Orrville (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Western Campus)
- Third Team: Santina Lauter of Cleveland (School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Metropolitan Campus); Edward Lukenge of Cleveland Heights (School of Nursing and Health Professions, Western Campus); Jesse Osadciw of Parma Heights (School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Computer Science, Western Campus); Diana Rampersaud of Elyria (School of Nursing and Health Professions, Western Campus); Deana Zayed of Beachwood (School of Nursing and Health Professions, Eastern Campus)
Students were nominated by College faculty, staff and other campus leaders. First-team honorees will receive $1,000 scholarships, second-team members will get $500 scholarships, and third-team members will get $250 scholarships.
The All-Ohio Academic Team program is supported by the Ohio Association of Community Colleges, the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and Honda of America Manufacturing Inc.
