Tri-C Wi-Fi Hotspot Program

Tri-C Wi-Fi hotspots can access the internet using free cellular data. This device is provided by Cuyahoga Community College. Currently enrolled Tri-C students can apply for a Wi-Fi hotspot from Tri-C libraries by completing the Tri-C Wi-Fi Hotspot program application.

  • Currently enrolled Tri-C students can apply for the free Wi-Fi hotspot.
  • Students will be charged a $90 replacement fee for hotspots that are not returned or returned damaged.
  • When you bring back the Wi-Fi hotspot, ensure that all the components (case, charger/cord, Wi-Fi hotspot) are returned.
  • Each Wi-Fi hotspot comes with instructions on how to use the device.  For more details, see the Tri-C Wi-Fi hotspot instructions below.
  • Hotspot service will be will shut off if lost, stolen, not returned, etc.

Need an Internet connection?

Apply for a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot device from our Tri-C libraries. You can use the hotspot at home or on the go.

What is a Wi-Fi hotspot?

Wi-Fi hotspot is a device that lets you connect to the internet. You can connect your devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, and any other household device that needs internet.

Where can I get a free hotspot device?

Submit the Tri-C Wi-Fi Hotspot Program Application and indicate the campus pickup location.  If you're approved, you will receive an email in your Tri-C email with pickup instructions.

How long can I keep it? Where can I return it?

Your Wi-Fi hotspot is due back at the end of the semester/term. Hotspots cannot be renewed or have their due dates extended. If you aren't using it, please return your hotspot so we can loan it to other students. PLEASE RETURN YOUR HOTSPOT TO A TRI-C LIBRARY LOCATION.

Who is eligible for the Tri-C Wi-Fi Hotspot Program?

Currently enrolled students that:

  • have a library account in good standing (no fines or fees over $10 and no overdue materials),
  • are currently enrolled for this term,
  • do not already have a hotspot through the Tri-C Wi-Fi Hotspot Program.

Faculty, staff and community patrons are not eligible for this program.

Are there any limits on the hotspot Wi-Fi data?

The Tri-C Wi-Fi hotspot program currently has hotspots from PCs for People and T-Mobile:

  • T-Mobile hotspots: At 50GB, data can be deprioritized, so speeds may decrease if the hotspot is connected to a busy cell phone tower.
  • PCs for People: At 23GB, data can be deprioritized, so speeds may decrease if the hotspot is connected to a busy cell phone tower.

How many devices can be connected at a time to the Wi-Fi Hotspot?

A Wi-Fi hotspot device can support up to four connected devices simultaneously.

Currently the Tri-C Wi-Fi hotspot program is using the following hotspot model(s), please review the correct user guide based on the model of hotspot you have:
