Enrollment Steps and Information

Once you have your program selected, complete your application at www.tri-c.edu/apply. If you’re a credit-seeking student, please ensure that you designate that you attended Eastern Gateway Community College.

Students at Tri-C have a variety of payment options, including federal student aid, self-pay, third-party payments, debt forgiveness, and more. See below for details about each.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Log in to www.studentaid.gov to complete your FAFSA. The Student Financial Aid & Scholarships website has an array of resources ranging from FAFSA completion, Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals, Debt Forgiveness, and more.

Students wishing to enroll in Summer 2024 should complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA. If you have already completed the 2023-2024 FAFSA, adding Tri-C is easy! Simply log back in to www.studentaid.gov and follow the instructions to submit a correction. Tri-C’s school code is 003040.

Students wishing to enroll in Fall 2024 and beyond should complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA. The US Department of Education is still refining the 2024-2025 FAFSA, so if you need to add Tri-C, more information will be provided in the coming weeks.

Other Payment Methods

Students have the option to make out-of-pocket payments at the time of registration or enroll in an installment payment plan. Students may also have access to a 529 Plan or to employer-sponsored tuition payment or reimbursement. Information about payment options can be found at www.tri-c.edu/payingforcollege.

Workforce Training Scholarships

Workforce Scholarships help Tri-C students pay for the Workforce Community and Economic Development Division programs and training. Potential recipients must complete a Workforce Scholarship Request form online.

Students are encouraged to submit their official transcripts from Eastern Gateway Community College or any other previously attended college/university. Tri-C will use transfer credits to assist in the placement process. There are multiple other ways for students to receive placement, including official high school transcripts if you have graduated within the last five years, ACT or SAT scores, or an assessment. Visit www.tri-c.edu/placement to review your options.

Eastern Gateway Community College will send your official transcript to Tri-C free of charge. To make this request, complete the Information Release form here:

https://forms.office.com/r/8XHfCm309h

EGCC will continue to send transcripts free of charge through February 28, 2025. Beginning March 1, 2025, students will be directed to request transcripts through Parchment. This page will be updated with a link to Parchment at that time.

Please be advised that when you receive the results of your transcript evaluation, you have 60 days to appeal that evaluation to request specific credit for courses that do not have a direct equivalent.

All students are encouraged to view the New Student Orientation (Step 3 of this link). The orientation takes approximately 45 minutes and provides a detailed overview of academic policies and support services for students available at Tri-C.

After the completion of New Student Orientation, students should schedule an appointment with an academic counselor to discuss courses for the upcoming semester and to develop an academic plan. Students can make an appointment online or call 216-987-6000 option 4. Appointments may be done via phone, video call, or in-person based on your individual preference.

Students can register for classes via my Tri-C space. Payment arrangements must be in place at the time of registration. For a registration tutorial, students can watch this YouTube video.
